I'm always working - at least my mind is!
At flag football games. š In the shower. šæ At 3 a.m., when an ideaš” jolts me awake because I know it could change everything. Even at the hair salon, while covering a few stubborn grays.
But here's a truth I've always believedājust never fully felt until now:
š When your purpose aligns with your mission, work stops feeling like work.
It feels like joy, a creative energy rush, and I love it! I get to help my amazing clients launch movements that matter (likeĀ SeeAbilityShop.com) and build something I deeply believe ināFemFoundry, a community for female business owners who empower one another and have a heart to serve.
Do I need boundaries? Absolutely. (Work in progress - lots of work needed.)
Do I sleep? Most nights.Ā
But I wouldn't trade this journey for anything. š©·Ā
If you'd told me a year agoāafter a corporate reduction in forceāthat I'd be here, launching a second business I love, dipping into my 401K to chase a wild but purposeful dream, I wouldn't have believed you. But here I amāwith conviction, courage, and maybe a little bit of crazyāturning vision into reality (and working to an official launch in October!).
We're planning a family trip to our favorite place this summer: Fripp Island, SC. At dinner, I asked everyone to share their top two wishes for the week. My 12-year-old son, Bennett, didn't hesitate to say, "For you not to work, Mom!" Message received. Loud and clear, buddy.
So, while we're away, I'm shutting everything down to rest, reset, and entirely focus on my familyāthe people who have my heart and matter most. We'll see how I do. Maybe I'll have my kids write my follow-up post after the trip! Ha!
